You may think the answer is either a yes, or a no. Although the answer could not be, or rather is not that simple. The country’s relation to education started quite early. History suggests ancient India had traces of education being widely spread across various sections of the society. Scholarly scriptures and manuscripts that are translated from oral recitation by saints and sages had been found in different parts of the country, known as the remains of the cultural impression.
What was knowledge at that period?
It all started with the idea of impregnating the society with the values and wisdom of the then-prevailing thoughts. Both formal and informal education coexisted at that period. Since the society was divided into various stratum, they all learned their work of art. Verses of faith, the craft of kingship and warfare, social awareness, character development etc. How do we know that? The text that was handwritten at that time, by the highly erudite had travelled through centuries and thus it impacts the education system of this time.
The education at present
The education system of India has recently experienced changes that the world recognises and applauds. As we celebrate National Education day, 11th November on the birth anniversary of the first education minister of India, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, we are reminded that the country has remodelled their education structure, providing better reach over the more comprehensive subjects. Also, considering other recreational activities and the cardinal learning curve.
The education ministry of India has taken some major initiatives to develop the character and personality of the students. It also believes the Indian society consists of diverse communities however the students need to reach the state where they are capable of making their own decisions. Thus clearing air above major concepts of street smartness and cognitive growth. Schools are starting to approach the linear activity, chess as a channel to guide students through. The centre also is set to make chess a significant part of the academic curriculum. Though the schools are waiting for an official nod from the ministry, parents have already made sure their kids practise what they are preached.
Pledge to know better
Nelson Mandela said, ”Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world”. Though just a quote, it says a lot about how education can create an impact only for the better. It is time you and your kids make informed decisions. The social stigma of being perfect should be tarnished with the idea of being true to yourself. On National Education Day, let’s pledge to end the cycle of ignorance and start listening to what the world is saying. We need our children to be healthy, both physically and mentally, if they find a medium through which they allow themselves open to knowledge, let them be.
Mind Mentorz promises the same. To let your little ones think beyond the clouds, explore their field of interest and discover their direction of life. We stick to our words of providing your children a ground to be creative, innovative, logical and clear headed. Whether they choose Chess, Robotics, Rubik’s cube or Coding, we are just their object of support.
