Grandmaster is the highest-ranking title in chess, and these masterminds have attained it so early in life. They are not just brilliant but also extremely resolute. Let us know these champions.


  • Sergey Karjakin- The Russian chess prodigy is a delight to watch playing. He won the U12 World Chess Championship at the age of 12 years and 7 months in 2001. He started learning chess at the age of 5 and became an international face at the age of 11. Since then there is no stopping. He was awarded the highest title of grandmaster in 2003. Sergey was also the winner of the 2012, World Rapid Chess Championship. 


  • Gukesh Dommaraju- The Indian lad with an extraordinary talent. He is known as the second youngest person to grab the Grandmaster title after Russian player Sergey Karjakin. He says that he aimed to beat Sergey, but slipped by a mere 17 days. He started playing chess at the age of 7 and his first big win started with the U9 Asian School Chess Championships in 2015. 


  • Javokhir Sindarov- Presently third in the line is Javokhir Sindarov. Born in Uzbekistan in 8th December 2005, this kid was the second youngest Grandmaster before Gukesh won the title in March 2019. He was awarded the title of Grandmaster at an age of 12 years, 10 months and 5 days.    


  • Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu- Another Indian prodigy, Praggnanandhaa is a skilful player born and brought up in the city of Chennai. The lad created history at the age of 12 Years, 10 Months and 13 Days. He got his first grandmaster norm at the World Junior Chess Championship after finishing 4th with a total of  8 points. He then got his 2nd GM norm in Heraklion Fischer Memorial GM Norm tournament in Greece on 17 April 2018 and his 3rd norm in Gredine Open in Urtijëi.


  • Nodirbek Abdusattorov-  Uzbekistan and the world had never seen such a remarkable gifted chess enthusiast before Nodirbek Abdusattorov. Born in 18th September 2004, this kid had bagged the title of a Grandmaster at a tender age of 13 years, 1 month, and 11 days making him the fifth youngest World Champion. He grabbed the attention of the media at the age of 9 when he defeated two grandmasters in 2014.
